From June 2024 we want to produce a new podcast series and are looking for support! This means: We are looking for a coordinator for our new podcast project from June 2024 (mini-job, 40h/month).
The podcast is intended to build on our previous content and thus deal with topics such as racism, paternalism, white saviorism, etc. especially in the context of volunteering and refugee support work. We are a small team with less than ten members, most of us live in Berlin, but also spread across Germany. As we mainly work online, you are welcome to apply from any city.
Who are we?
Brückenwind is a non-profit organization that critically engages with international volunteer work and aims to promote solidarity and sustainable engagement. Our goal is to encourage reflection processes about one's own position within global power and inequality relations among volunteers and all interested individuals. To this end, we create various offerings of political education, including online support for volunteers on our website and in-person workshops. The focus of our work is on projects that engage with People on the Move at Europe's (external) borders. For more information about us and our work, see 'About us'.
Tasks:
- Conception and planning of a podcast series on topics such as racism, paternalism, white saviorism, etc., especially in the context of volunteering and support work
- Researching and selecting relevant content and guest speakers
- Moderating and conducting interviews as well as recording and editing the podcast episodes
- Collaboration in the planning and implementation of two panel discussions
Your profile:
- Interest in the critical reflection of structural racism, post-colonial contexts, especially in the context of volunteer work
- Identification with the work of our association
- Great initiative and flexibility
- Experience in podcast production or interest and willingness to familiarize yourself with this area
- Knowledge in the field of racism-critical educational work or the motivation to familiarize yourself with this topic
- Either excellent English OR German skills
Terms: Minijob (538€/40 hours/month), beginning on the 1st of June 2024. The position is project-based and financed for an initial 12 months (extension anticipated). Home-Office/ fully remote.
